Board of Directors

The Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s (CPA) board of directors is comprised of eight members who represent physiotherapists and physiotherapist assistants. Two external directors are appointed by the board for their expertise in fields other than physiotherapy.

Board Elections 2013

Following the February 2013 Board of Directors meeting, the slate of candidates for the 2013 election was approved. The candidates for the open director position are Jennifer Burt (Newfoundland) and Oren Cheifetz (Ontario).

Robert Werstine, President

London, Ontario

Rob began his two-year term as President in July 2011. He currently holds a senior clinical position at the Fowler-Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic at Fanshawe College and is the head therapist for Varsity Athletics. He holds an adjunct teaching appointment in the School of Graduate Studies at Western University. As past chair of the CPA Orthopaedic Division, Rob chaired the bid committee to host the 2012 IFOMT conference in Quebec City. Rob completed an MSc at Western in 2010 on evaluating the mobility of the cervical spine under fluoroscopy.

Karen was elected to the board in 2011 for a three-year term.

St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador

Jennifer was elected to the Board in 2010 for a three-year term.

Havelock, Ontario

Jennifer was elected to the Board in 2011 for a three-year term.

Lesley Trunley

Ottawa, Ontario

Lesley was elected to the board as Physiotherapist Assistant Director in 2012 for a three-year term.

Linda Woodhouse

Edmonton, Alberta

Linda was elected to board in 2012 for a three-year term. Linda is an associate professor at the University of Alberta.

Diana Perez

Pointe Claire, Quebec

Diana was re-elected to the Board in 2011, serving a second three-year term.

Sarah Dale-Harris

Toronto, Ontario

Sarah was appointed to the Board as External Director in 2008.

Duncan Sinclair

Kingston, Ontario

Duncan joined the Board as External Director in 2010.
